About

Hi there! Welcome to Female Monologues! As an actress you probably know the difficulty of finding quality female monologues online. Well I’ve compiled a decent collection for you, and the best part is I am always adding to the database! If you come across a monologue that you like, feel free to print it out and use it for your next audition or class! They are all absolutely free to use!

The reason that it is hard to find such quality monologues is that most of the playwrights work is copywrighted and hasn’t yet ventured into the public domain, this is a major bummer because we have to hunt down female monologues like they were a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow instead of just going online and finding one that suits our interest.

Below are a couple of articles that you will find useful as a performing artist, I will add some more as the mood strikes me. I am an actor as well so my time is half spent auditioning and half spent working and then working on the site for my favorite people in the world, YOU!

I have added some books to the books section from my personal collection, you can go ahead and buy them from Amazon (the only place I know that has some of them) or ask your local library to get them in. The reason they are there is if you need a reference for a piece a little more contemporary than the female monologues offered here on the site.

Last but not least if you would like to further yourself as an actress you will need to utilize the necessary tools available to your craft. Please do not skip your training! It is what seperates the Meryl Streeps from the Lindsay Lohans and Paris Hiltons. No one has ever been great overnight, and no one has ever been the best without practicing! So if you are serious about being the best you can be you would do well to invest in a professional course

Also if you know a monologue that would be good for the site, please feel free and send it to me!
